The B Woman marathon continues in BinHexS week dedicated to women: Marta Buoncristiani, HR Recruiter, speaks.
The HR team plays a very important role in the company, as they are the ones who have to deal in every way with people, the founding unit of the company. And in BinHexS, since we provide services, and services are performed by people, HR is even more important: it promotes a positive and inclusive corporate culture and makes sure that everyone is valued as an individual, both professionally and humanely.
Verdiana (Interviewer): What do you deal with in your day at BinHexS? What are the biggest challenges in your role?
Marta: “My role is HR Recruiter within the Human Resources Team, I consider it a very dynamic job because I am always in contact with different people. On a day-to-day basis I deal with everything related to recruitment and selection. Like all jobs in contact with the public, it is very challenging, despite being an office job, and can give great satisfaction because it allows you to develop emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills, as well as having the opportunity to socialize every day.”
V: What are your professional goals?
M: “Particularly at this time in my life, my goal is to be able to balance my work life with my studies, because last year I decided to go on to college, enrolling in a master’s degree. It was a difficult choice because with a full-time job it’s very challenging, but it was something that I really cared about; so, for the time being, that’s my goal, but in the future definitely what I aim for is to increase my HR skills, to learn new approaches to HR.”
V: What are your greatest passions instead?
M: “One of my greatest passions is the world of cosmetology, particularly skincare-I consider it a gesture of self-care. In fact, dedicating to ourselves boosts self-esteem and strengthens us mentally. Another great passion of mine is travel; by the way, in 2023 I took my first solo trip, after several second thoughts, but it was beautiful and is something I recommend to all women, because it is liberating and allowed me to overcome my fear of traveling alone.”
V: How do you think the role of women has changed in today’s society? Do you think we have already reached a situation of equality or is there still a long way to go in Italy?
M: “In my opinion, women today have an important weight in society, because they have to take charge of both family and social life. Compared to a few years ago, we are closer to equality, but there are still many adjustments to be made, although compared to, for example, when our grandmothers were young, a lot has changed. Certainly, women today are more independent, but what should be done, first and foremost, is to educate men about equality and respect for the female gender, increase empathy, because unfortunately only we understand our problems because of the fact that we are women; it would be necessary for men too to understand how it feels and change their attitude. The other steps to be taken are to increase women’s participation in the labor market to enable their economic independence, reduce the wage gap, and promote equality in family life.”
